Field Experiences: Teacher Apprentice Program (T.A.P.)

You are here

One of the training techniques the School of Education uses to prepare students for successful careers as teachers in the field of Education is T.A.P (Teacher Apprentice Program). Undergraduate Education students majoring in Early Education (PreK-4 and Sp Ed PreK-8) and Middle Education (Grades 4-8 with Math and Science) are required to complete a Field Experience each semester they are enrolled at Gwynedd Mercy University, prior to Pre-Student Teaching. This Field Experience is completed through T.A.P or Methods Courses the student might be enrolled in during the junior year. This full-day experience is completed on 10 Wednesdays during the fall and spring semesters. Transfer students who may have been credited with Pre-Student Teaching from their first College experience will still be required to complete a Field Experience in lieu of Pre-Student Teaching.

T.A.P (Teacher Apprentice Program) helps ensure students from the School of Education ensures are well prepared for employment opportunities after they graduate. T.A.P helps bring futures into focus.
